Family Finance. Best. Class. Ever.

So I'm up late studying for a Family Finance exam I have to take tomorrow morning. (It's kind of depressing staying up late studying as a married person because you know your husband is sleeping in there without you. Hmph.) Anyway, when this happens for other classes, about this time of night I start calling the teacher names & muttering threats under my breath & getting really annoyed at them for giving their students a midterm that we actually have to study for....

However, I'm not doing that tonight because Dr. Craig Israelson ROCKS. If any of you have the option of taking his class (SFL 260), or auditing it, or even just sitting in on one class period, it is TOTALLY worth your time. Highly, highly, highly, highly recommended by me. This guy is hilarious, knows his stuff, ties in gospel principles like few teachers I've had, and everything we talk about is applicable to real life. And even though the class is so popular that he teaches it in the huge SWKT auditorium, it is one of my top two classes this semester and probably one of my top five at BYU.

Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it. Well it's not. :)

This is the stuff we talk about:
Record Keeping
Budgeting
Credit/Loans
Taxes
Life Insurance
Health/Auto/etc. Insurance
Housing - how to buy your own house

At first glance it seems like it could be a really boring class. But no. That is far, far, far from the truth. And in actuality, I didn't really know much about any of those topics, and now I feel like I am a much more prepared citizen and wife. If you're recently married or engaged or single take this class. Dr. Israelson is an incredible teacher. So there. Except his tests - especially the 2nd midterm - are hard, so I need to study now. But...I rocked the last one. :)

So yeah. SFL 260. Ask anyone else who's taken it, and you'll get the same response. They all know what I mean.
